Excessive leakage of the Charge Air Cooler may result in a low power complaint. This tool tests the Charge Air Cooler to determine if the leak rate is within acceptable limits. The Charge Air Cooler does not need to be removed from the vehicle to perform this test. Charge Air Coolers are not required to be completely leak proof and may not be tested for leakage by submerging them in a radiator test tank. Only this test can determine if the leak rate is in the acceptable range.
